HOTTEST NEW TV SERIES - THE GAME OF THRONES

Lately there have been talks of this amazing new show "The Game of Thrones".After quite a few recommendations i decided to watch this series and it turns out to be an adaptation. The original book being written in 1996 it was finally made into a series. So i watched it and i loved it then i dig it and then i read all of its 5 novels (The story is not yet concluded).

It is basically Fantasy which portrays a kingdom whose throne is the subject of politics. The noble lords are conspiring to get high ranks and benefits out of the throne and the throne itself. The thing is that this series is a masterpiece from every aspect.

The story, characters, cast, graphics everything was nearly perfect. This is one of the best adaptations that i have seen after The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Now if you have enjoyed LOTR then this series is just perfect for you.It has more dimensions than LOTR and more reality touches with fantasy themes.

I didn't read the book before watching the first season but when i came to know that this series has 5 novels i was really surprised that how on earth i haven't heard about it.This is just too epic to be neglected. So after finishing the first season i could not wait for a year and started reading the novels and although they are very very lengthy they are utterly unpredictable and highly entertaining.

SERIES REVIEW - DAMAGES

It was July 2008 and the nominations for the Emmy Awards were just announced.Being a regular follower of TV Series i was surprised by the name "Damages" getting handsome number of nominations(i.e 7).More surprisingly it won 3 Emmy awards while my favorite series "Dexter" was left empty handed. It left quite an impression and i added it to my to-watch list.Apparently my list was so long that Damages didn't get a chance to land on my screen until recently. After been 3 years in the queue i finally watched Damages Season 1 and frankly it was awesome. It has to be one of the best series that i ever watched.

It covers a law firm who is indulged in a lawsuit against a billionaire who allegedly withdrawn his shares just before his company went bankrupt. The whole season revolves around this one case hence building up quite a strong plot. The essence of this series is focusing on this one case instead of one-per-episode format which is usually followed in law firm kind of series.

The first striking thing about this series is its depiction of timeline. The Series begins at the start and end of the story. So you already know the end of the story (most of it) you just don't know how/why it happened. On one hand a rookie lawyer Ellen Parson(Rose Byrne) is trying to impress her new boss(the impressive Glenn Close) while on the other hand she is running from a crime scene soaked in blood. Both time lines progress smoothly until they catches up.It doesnt sound new to some of you but believe me it was done way better than it sounds.

THE GIRL ON FIRE

Imagine that you just finished a book which left you wondering how would it feel to watch a movie based on the book... Well that was exactly how I was feeling after finishing first book of the Hunger Games series.

I immediately searched it out on IMDB and was glad to see that the movie is indeed in production and that its trailer has been released, I was so curious about the trailer that I started picturing it even before I played it.The very first image that popped up in my mind was the "The Girl on Fire" thing and then there were random flashes of The Seam , Lights above the Capitol (aerial view), People Cheering/Sad, Gale, Peeta, Rue. A canon going off and the first kill then Tributes trying to kill each other.

Like my friend, I also never had a habit of reading graphic novels (since I like to use my own imagination while reading the book), so I guess its safe to assume that I am in no way considered an expert in this field.

GRAPHIC NOVEL REVIEW: ARON WARNER’S THE PARIAH.

Credits: Creator: Aron Warner Writer: Philip Gellat Artist: Brett Weldele
Plot Summary:
In the future, a race of people known as Vitros, people who have been altered in the womb with gene manipulation and who are incredibly smart, almost scarily so, are given a fair amount of discrimination and are feared and hated in equal measure. One day, after a mishap with a toxic substance, the Vitros are blamed and named terrorists, and a world-wide persecution begins as people fear the Vitros are planning genocide. For one Vitro, Brent Marks, the world will never be the same again.
ISSUE # 1
This review was actually kind of hard to write as it was requested by a person representing a publishing company! But I’ve tried my very best not to come in any influence and give my honest opinion.
The truth is : the story line is interesting however its lacking certain something. Now I’m not a big fan of graphic novels I tried to read them when I was little , I took whole of my brothers collection from his room and tried reading them but as I was little the only one I found interesting was unfortunately some graphic novel called penguin warrior or something it was about..well that’s beside the point.

BOOK REVIEW: GOOD BYE MR CHIPS.

SUMMERY:

''The novel tells the story of a much-beloved schoolteacher and his long tenure at Brookfield, a fictional boys' public boarding school. Mr. Chipping conquers his inability to connect with his students, as well as his initial shyness, when he marries Katherine, a young woman whom he meets on holiday and who quickly picks up on calling him by his nickname, "Chips". Despite his own mediocre academic record, he goes on to have an illustrious career as an inspiring educator at Brookfield "

THE worst book ever!!! its in our English syllabus and we had no choice but to read it...i mean from the world full of books they had to make us read this one !! but this book is not just unbearable but it has no point whatsoever.

BOOK REVIEW: LEAP OF FAITH BY DANIEL STEEL.

PLOT SUMMERY:

"Marie-Ange Hawkins has the rich kid's childhood that other kids dream about. She has freedom, love, security in a beautiful old French chateau. But when Marie-Ange is only 11, a tragic accident marks the end of her idyllic life. Orphaned now, and alone, she is sent to America, to live with her great-aunt on a farm in Iowa. Her aunt really resnts her deeply, and cuts her off from all she has ever loved.
In Marie-Ange's lonely existence, only the friendship of a local boy, Billy Parker, offers comfort and hope to her. But her only wish is to gain comfort and escape. Then just after her twenty-first birthday, an unexpected visitor brings startling news and an extraordinary gift; the freedom to return to France, to Chateau de Marmouton.
When she arrives in France, Marie-Ange learns that the chateau's new owner is Comte Bernard de Beauchamp, a dashing young widower who invites her into his home, then into his heart. Their life together, soon includes marriage, children, and lavish homes. It takes an ominous turn though when a strange woman calls to tell Marie-Ange a very strange, shocking story. One so chilling, she doesn't want to believe it.
Not even her old friend Billy can help her now as he is thousands of miles away. So Marie-Ange somehow has to find courage and faith to survive."

Looking at the summery plot, the story actually does sound interesting. What the readers don’t know is how many flaws and weird happenings does this book contains.
This girl marie-ange makes some very insane decisions in whole of the book, the concept that parentless kids don’t know what’s good for them , well our heroin marie-ange takes this concept to a whole new level. I mean true that she had no parents but for the love of everything good use your common sense.
Lets look at each of the things tht marie ange did seperatley:

BOOK REVIEW: TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY

While I get that Jay Asher's "Th1rteen r3asons why" has a really deep meaning and a really good point, I still couldn't stop laughing at some of the reason Hannah went into her so called depression!
Here are the reasons and why i found them stupid!
"#1. Justin Foley, the first boy Hannah had ever kissed, who lies and exaggerates the event by saying that they had gone further. This gives Hannah a negative reputation at her new school."
Usually when a rumour starts about you, you don't know who's the person who started it, but when you are 100% sure that that person started the rumour well lets just say you take matter in your own hands, but that's not what Hannah does! oh no, she just let Justin Foley spread rumour about her!

THE PERSON I HATE THE MOST.

I came to my college thinking finally ill be able to relax , that one personality that I completely hate would not be there to annoy me out of my wits.
How happy was I, thinking that air would be clean again, sound waves not so annoying the sight so smooth and not of that dreaded creature. I could almost hear glass shattering when I spotted my worst nightmare standing there looking all smug gazing at the notice board. I would have turned around and went back to the car if it hadn’t been for my best friend who dragged me along to the notice board to look our names up .His ‘’hello’’ was enough to make me realize that next two years I would be in immense pain, for that guy was the person that I’ve hated all my life, and its just my luck that he happens to be everywhere that I go.

REBECCA BLACK EXPLAINS HER SONG FRIDAY...

One of our many habits is to check random videos! A few days back my friend showed me a video where Rebecca black explains the meaning of her song "Friday", so i wrote it down for you guys to read...........

"People just don't get it, they really just don't get the song, I am surprised when people hear my song Friday and think its just a breezy pop song. The writers Clarence jay and Patrice Wilson really layered the song with a lot  of hidden meaning and I really don't think the people pick up on it the first time they hear it. What real meaning to the song is that it comes from a really-a really deep and a really painful place."

WHY OH WHY WOULD YOU MAKE BREAKING DAWN MOVIE IN TWO PARTS?

When I heard that Harry Potter and the deathly hallows were going to be made in 2 parts, I was actually happy. 'cause you know the 7th book has a lot of important information that couldn't be cut out easily.
But when I heard that Stephenie Meyers wanted "breaking dawn" to be made in 2 parts too, I was WTH! Honestly why are they making it in 2 parts?
Was the vampires showing off their power  throughout the book so freaking important that they couldn't sum it up in one movie???

"I am down. I wanna do it. The story absolutely warrants two films. It would be a six-month shoot if we made two movies back-to-back, compared to a three-month shoot. It would be much more satisfying to do two films, because we wouldn't have to drop so much of the story; it wouldn't be like, 'Well, we didn't get to do this scene, this scene or this scene.' You'd get less of that — which would be good."

THE WORST SONG IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND!!!

Okay by now you guys must have heard the all incredible voice of Rebecca black and her awesome lyrics of the song "Friday" (yes I am being sarcastic)
Am sorry girl but your song "Friday" might be the most terrible thing I have ever heard in my entire life! and its lyrics *shudders*...You know usually when 2 billion people criticize someone works there must be a very good reason behind it but no, sadly Rebecca black still insists that she has a good voice!!!
And who was her lyricist!? or did she wrote that pathetic excuse for a song herself??

You know I even tried analysing her, thinking maybe it has some really really really deep meaning I was over looking. Here's what I came up with..

"Gotta get down to the bus stop
Gotta catch my bus, I see my friends (My friends)

Kickin’ in the front seat
Sittin’ in the back seat
Gotta make my mind up
Which seat can I take?"

THE CURIOUS CASE OF RAYMOND DAVIS.

“He reminds me of the man who murdered both his parents, and then when sentence was about to be pronounced pleaded for mercy on the grounds that he was an orphan”
Abraham Lincoln.
In the last few weeks, tensions have escalated between the U.S. and Pakistan. The media has dubbed it “a diplomatic row,” but even that phrase is a gross oversimplification of the situation, which is now a convoluted, complex mess. The center of the controversy is an American allegedly named Raymond Davis who, on January 27, killed two brothers in Lahore, different news have entirely different points of views on the why part.
According to Mr davis statement, it was purely for self defense but other details and eye witnesses explain otherwise. The incident happened in broad daylight in part of Lahore called Mazang.
Two men on a motorcycle were shot dead by Davis ,as he explained that the men were attempting to rob him, according to the autopsy report the men were shot in the back, which contradicts Mr Davis’s statement of his reason.
